Students Prepared to Succeed (SPS) is a Charter Management Organization dedicated to support schools to provide the best education possible to students.
Recruitment and Retention
SPS has a strong history of creating and implementing programs related to recruiting, developing, evaluating and retaining Principals, Assistant Principals, Instructional Leaders, Teachers and Educational Assistants and programs related to recruiting and retaining students.
Financial Management
SPS responsibility manages each school’s
financial affairs and traditional human
relations (HR) functions.
Academic Support
SPS works with academic staff to design and set curriculum and evaluation, protocol, and matters of implementation related to both curriculum and student evaluation.
Grant funding
SPS successfully works with schools to identify, apply, and manage grant awards. Over just the past two years we have secured more than $1.3 million for our schools.
A Proven Track Record of Success
Quintupling the number of students at Success Academy from 60 to 315 in 3 years; Expanding Success Academy from one campus to two and from grades K-5 to grades K-8; Creating environments and core missions of equity and academic success at partner charter schools; Developing and executing a leadership transition plan for a long-time retiring Executive Director; Facilitating the recruitment, retention, and evaluation of high quality academic and operational leaders; In the last four years since 2018, SPS has guided its team of school leaders to deliver strong outcomes. Evidence of our success includes: Students Prepared to Success has brought added value in a short amount of time by working with individual schools to determine the highest leverage action steps. We strive to preserve school autonomy while increasing accountability and academic success through strategic partnerships tailored to each school's unique needs. Leadership
Executive Director
Magdy Rabeaa, M.Ed.
Magdy Rabeaa has expertise in academic
performance and charter school management.
He has worked with English Language
programs, special education, and district-level
assessment and testing programs.
During his 20-year career in education, Mr. Rabeaa served as an administrator for four charter schools that were recognized for helping students beat the odds. Mr. Rabeaa brings much relevant expertise to SPS school programs. He holds a Master’s in Education from Hamline University, and he has served on three charter school boards and on the board of Novation Education Opportunities (NEO), a charter school authorizer.
Board of Directors
Kurt Liberman
Board Chairman & SPS Co-Founder Kurt Lieberman is a serial entrepreneur, who is dedicated to lifting up underserved individuals through thoughtful and intentional planning and project execution. Mr. Lieberman formerly served on the board of Pillsbury United Communities, a Minnesota Authorizer. His service included two terms as chairman.
Grant Abott
Rev. Grant Abbott is the former executive director of the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches (now Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul). Rev. Abbott, for 10-years, worked with former Minneapolis Mayor Don Fraser's education reform initiative and is a lifelong enthusiast for educational equity.
Marwa Salam
arwa Salam has been a Special Education Coordinator since 2018. Prior to that, she spent 12 years as a Special Education Teacher working in a high-quality charter school. Ms. Salam has worked exclusively at charter schools since moving to Minnesota in 2009. She is a former board member of the charter school authorizer, Novation Education Opportunities (NEO).
